Part of the problem with applying for a job is the different formats that each part of the employment process takes. There probably aren’t many of us who can say that we are brilliant at each of the points mentioned above. Some of us may be good at filling out forms and writing a CV, some of us might be good at the face to face interview part and some of us may have left a good enough impression on previous employers that they do actually provide us with a glowing reference.
In general, most people can work on the face to face interview part; a little extra confidence can go a long way. Most people can work on their writing skills, this can generally be achieved with practice. However, an excellent reference is out of peoples hands.
The fact that more employers are
