Problems with changing jobs can often come in a number of different ways. If an employee is sacked or made redundant then this can quickly cause problems. They may be of the opinion that if they’re not going to work there for much longer then they can choose to be lazy, they can work to a poor standard or they may even choose to do something of detriment to the business.

People who do this often do not think of the consequences. The chances are that these people will need to look for another job in the near future. An important part of the application process is a reference from a previous employer. If someone has behaved poorly in a previous job then their previous manager can choose not to submit a reference. If a previous employer will not provide a reference then this is usually a good indication that the employee was not a good worker.

In order to verify a candidate’s history, employers will often look to carry out reference checks such as those available from PeopleChecking. These qualification checks will verify whether a previous manager will supply a reference and also whether or not a candidate has attempted to falsify a reference in order to make them look better.
